I recently received a notice regarding the issuance of a Request for Expressions of Interest and Qualifications for the design competition for the front lawn at Lansdowne Park. The Request for Expressions of Interest and Qualifications will be put to the marketplace via MERX in late December or early January 2010.

This is the first stage in commencing the design competition for a new waterfront park and front lawn at Lansdowne Park including the Ottawa Farmers' Market, the Horticulture Building and Aberdeen Pavilion, as directed by Council on November 16, 2009.

City Council approved a Community Design Plan (CDP) for the Riverside South community in June 2005. The CDP established the general arrangement of future land use for approximately 1,400 hectares of undeveloped land and provided for a future population of about 52,000 people in the community. The Master Servicing Studies prepared in support of the approved CDP were completed recently. Minor changes to the approved CDP are now required to reflect the outcome of these final studies.

Please take notice that the City of Ottawa will hold a Public Meeting on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Rideauview Community Centre Gymnasium at 4310 Shoreline Road to discuss a proposed plan of subdivision.
