Local Events

Canada Day Festivities were held across Ottawa this week and Riverside South and Barrhaven were no expections.  In the photo above, my son Jack and I are helping with the cake cutting in Riverside South.  Seen below, I am assisting the Barrhaven Lions Club with the distribution of their cake at the Barrhaven Canada Day Celebrations.

This past week saw the groundbreaking of the new Leitrim Park n Ride Facility.

This current project is Phase 1 of Stage 1 with 295 spots in total (286 vehicle, 6 disabled and 3 bus stalls) to be completed later this fall. The City is building the access on Gilligan Road and a new signalized intersection, including turn lanes, at Lietrim Road, as well as a cul de sac and pathway on the end of Quinn.

Stage 1 has 5 phases and will have just over 1200 spaces when it is completed.

My team of young volunteers and I pose for a quick photo as we handed out bags at the Metro (Strandherd and Woodroffe) in Barrhaven on Saturday, June 26th.  Thank you to all the generous shoppers who helped us overflow the collection bin!
