Ottawa launches the Fifth annual Fall Cleaning the Capital Campaign

Ottawa - Councillor Maria McRae, Chair of the Transportation Committee, Barrhaven Councillor Jan Harder and Gloucester-South Nepean Councillor Steve Desroches in partnership with Tim Hortons helped to kick off the fifth annual Fall Cleaning the Capital Campaign today in Barrhaven.

Ottawa’s 5th annual Fall Cleaning the Capital campaign would not be possible without the participation of thousands of dedicated volunteers who care about keeping our city clean.  The annual Barrhaven clean up is a wonderful example of residents joining together to make a real difference in their community.

New South Barrhaven fire station to serve growing community

firestation2.jpgIt was my pleasure to join with Susan Jones, General Manager of the City's Emergency and Protective Services Branch, City of Ottawa Fire Chief John deHooge, and my fellow councillors Jan Harder and Diane Deans as the City revealed the design for Fire Station No. 47 that will be constructed at 3559 Greenbank Road south of Cambrian Road to serve South Barrhaven.
