Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge construction continues

Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge construction continues

I would like to provide residents with an update of the on-going construction of the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge. As you may have noticed, significant progress has been made on the construction of the bridge both on-site and off-site. Some of the immediate work-in-progress includes completion of the bridge launching system, which will be used to slide the bridge into place once assembled. Assembly of the bridge floor (painted white) is on-going; fabrication of the remaining floor deck and arches continues in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A few of the arch components have arrived on site and are currently being assembled; the remaining arch segments are currently being fabricated and are expected to arrive shortly.

I am pleased to see the progress that has been made to date. Please continue to follow my columns and website for further updates and new pictures. If you are interested in the construction of the bridge, you can now see live images through a link on my website at www.stevedesroches.ca, which provides a safe way for residents to follow the progress without having to visit the construction site.
