It is with great pleasure that we at the Walter Baker Sports Centre invite you and your constituents to attend our Grand Re-Opening of the Walter Baker Sports Centre.
In the last few months of 2011, the Walter Baker Sports Centre has undergone restorations of the upper gym, including: new fitness equipment such as resistance machines, treadmills, free weight equipment, new lighting and fresh paint, as well as a thorough cleaning of existing equipment and floors. The pool recently re-opened its doors having received new paint, new tiling and repairing of the shower fixtures, thorough cleaning of the pool basins and inspection of the various pieces of aquatic equipment. Finally, the Centre received new paint throughout and in October the Ruth E. Dickinson Library re-opened its doors after several months of renovations.
On Friday February 17, 2012 from 9 – 4PM join the WBSC staff in celebrating these improvements with the following events taking place throughout the day:
• FREE access to our weight and cardio upper gym as well as demonstrations on how to use our state-of-the-art resistance machines;
• Complimentary coffee and tea offered until 12 noon from Sachi's café;
• FREE use of the pool from 1-2:30 pm.
• Aquatic Sport Demonstrations for Spring Board Diving, Synchronized Swimming, Snorkelling and Scuba Diving.
• FREE swimming level assessment for children and adults
• Receive Swim to Survive training—learn what to do should you fall into water unexpectedly.
• More games and fun activities taking place during the swim (from 1 – 2:30PM).
