limebank_tour2_thumb.jpgI would like to provide residents with an update on the construction taking place on Limebank Road and Earl Armstrong Road. I know these projects are important for residents.

Limebank Road from River Road to Balmoral Drive is scheduled to be completed in October of 2010. This project is moving forward on budget and on schedule.

It was my pleasure to stop by the set of the upcoming film "House At The End of the Street" which is being filmed on Fenton Road in Gloucester this past Tuesday, August 31st.  This is the biggest film that has ever come to Ottawa (Starring Elisabeth Shue - Piranha 3D, Hamlet, Adventures in Babysitting) and the set was open for the first and only time, until Production is over for media and guests.

South Ottawa Police Station Proposed Location Announced PDF Print E-mail

police_station6.jpgOTTAWA – August 31, 2010 – Ottawa Police Chief Vern White, along with City Councillors Eli El-Chantiry, Jan Harder, and Steve Desroches, announced today that the proposed future South Ottawa Police Station will be built at the intersection of Prince of Wales Drive and Woodroffe Avenue in Barrhaven.

"Today’s announcement could not be more relevant," said Councillor Desroches. "With the ever-expanding communities of Barrhaven and Riverside South, there is an increasing need for enhanced emergency services."

Ottawa - Councillor Maria McRae, Chair of the Transportation Committee, Barrhaven Councillor Jan Harder and Gloucester-South Nepean Councillor Steve Desroches in partnership with Tim Hortons helped to kick off the fifth annual Fall Cleaning the Capital Campaign today in Barrhaven.

Ottawa’s 5th annual Fall Cleaning the Capital campaign would not be possible without the participation of thousands of dedicated volunteers who care about keeping our city clean.  The annual Barrhaven clean up is a wonderful example of residents joining together to make a real difference in their community.
