Tree and Donation Presentation to Riverside South Schools |

Councillor Steve Desroches is joined by representatives from Riverside South schools for his second presentation of a tree and a $150 donation as part of his annual Earth Day Tree Planting event in his ward. Earlier this month, the Councillor presented local Barrhaven schools with a similar donation.

 My team and I are excited to once again be a part of the Capital Food Blitz.
We will be stationed at the Metro Superstore located at Woodroffe Avenue and Strandherd Drive between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, June 26th, 2010.
Please take the opportunity to fill a donation bag with non-perishable food items at one of 26 grocery stores across the National Capital Region, and help us reach 100,000 pounds of food this year!
Watch for volunteers, who will be handing out bags at the entrance of Metro and Loblaws stores between 10am and 4pm on Saturday June 26th and Sunday June 27th.

Ottawa – June 15, 2010 – As part of his annual Earth Day Tree Planting, Councillor Steve Desroches presented representatives from Farley Mowat Public School, Adrienne Clarkson Elementary School, St. Emily Catholic School, St. Andrew Catholic School, and École élémentaire catholique Jean-Robert-Gauthier with a $150.00 Earth Day Environmental Education Contribution on Tuesday, June 15th at the Southpointe Community Centre.

 Ottawa – June 14, 2010 – As part of the contract awarded to ConCreate USL for the construction of the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge, the sub-contract for the fabrication of the bridge steelwork has been awarded to a Canadian company located in Nova Scotia. Cherubini Group of Companies of Dartmouth has received the contract worth $15-20M for the construction of the steel structure of the Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge.

The Nepean Nomads Walking Club is having their 20th Anniversary Volksmarch on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepointe Dr.) The Volksmarch will consist of 5km and 11km trails and will finish with a bbq lunch at Ben Franklin Place.
